Guest
Activity Program
We offer can help with arranging trips and activities.
6 of the villas are within 5 minutes walk of each other. The
other one is 5 minutes by car or bus (Dolmus) |
Local Bus Service There is an excellent local bus service all year round. They go every 15 minutes or so to the centre of Alanya and in the summer go from about 6.00am till 10.pm at night. It costs about £1 to go to Alanya, and about 50p to Gazipasa. The bus drivers are very helpful and will stop along the way. A small tip is always appreciated. Sid will have details of times etc. They buses run along the road next to the beach so are within easy walking distance. This is cheap reliable service which local use. |
Local Beaches
Fishermen are usually found most days casting off from the shore line. Although experience is that the rocky ones are the best for fishing off. There are lots of beaches and coves along the road, and it is very easy to get a passing Dolmus. There are small restaurants and they have deckchairs to hire. The food is basic and very cheap. For more information about the Local Beaches. The beaches are no more than 10 minutes walk from the villa's unless you walk very slow. |
Here are some recent pictures of Alanya, which we hope will convey it beauty, modernity as well as its historic character. |

| Alanya offers both historic culture as well as modern amenities. The landscaping is bright and open and roads are all well maintained. There is easy access to to the beaches which are clean, safe and many have "Blue Flags". | ||

| Alanya combines greenness as well as a warm sunny climate. There is no shortage of water in Alanya and this is why the grass is so green and flowers so colourful. Alanya is dotted by shops and cafes, with most tourists eating outdoors. There is an excellent choice, but we have to say that there is a very limited number of restaurants offer all-day breakfasts. There are however Chinese, Thai and a variety of other international restaurants | ||

Alanya has a modern transport system
with
buses,
taxis as well as the cheap and cheerful
Dolmus's. There are dozen of
tour companies
offering trips and says out. These are very
popular and extremely good value.
The soft sandy beaches stretch for miles. There are busy bustling beaches as well as quiet coves. Although the beaches in Alanya are very good, the best beaches are located up the coast where our villas are, and every day you can see the day boat trippers heading past the villas to the coves which are about 3 miles from the villas. Whilst Alanya offers a traditional Turkish welcome, the city has all the modern amenities including an HSBC, cinema, bowling alley, great night life and lots more. Most of the pavements are wide and paved. |

| Please also look at Shopping on Holiday. There are three local shops which sell bread and basic foods and drinks including fresh bread, milk, coffee, margarine, butter, sugar, tea, cheese, chicken, biscuits, rice, pasta, cooking oil, fruit, vegetables, sweets, coke and beer. The prices are cheap though the choice is limited. However even more choice can be found in Mahmutlar and Gazipasa which are less than 15 minutes away and serviced by regular local bus services. The best shops are found in Alanya where you can buy almost everything you would need. |
Fishing and eating Fish Locally
The fish is wonderful and there are three fish restaurants selling fresh dishes within 3 km. The menu depends on the catch, and there is always fresh salads, bread and fruit and of coarse beer. For more information about Eating fish or catching Fish look at our Fish Pages.

Places to meet the locals In Yesiloz there are lots of places where the locals meet, in fact anywhere there a tea being made. They are happy for you to join in. Often they are there all day or so it seems and you can join in their card or board games. Almost all the people meeting as such are men and this is not a place to chat up the local ladies. |
|
Yesiloz is a wonderful base for a family holiday. Guests are close to almost everything. Have a look at some pictures of the local beaches and views. Yesiloz is the exclusive part of the resort of Alanya. There are shops and most of the locals are farmers or work in Alanya. There are lots of small shops within easy walking, and there is a bus stop with frequent buses to the centre of Alanya. We are on the bus route for Gazipasa, a major town, and so there are lots of buses. The local shops have most of the day to day items and because they are mainly for the local, they are very cheap and very friendly. |
| Eating locally: Doing it like the locals. | |
| Gazipasa is the place for authentic Turkish food. Here men will eat all day, sitting at tables all along the streets, They can be served from restaurants with a menu or freshly made Borek from little stall doted all around the town. | |
There is a barber and they will do massage, shave and hair cut for about £3. There is a weekly market in Yesiloz and it is certainly worth a visit, simply to see what a country market looks and feels like. Guests should enjoy a glass of "Chi" tea if they are asked, it is free and lovely. The locals are friendly and the one we know the best is Memhet and he lives there with his sons and daughters and another family who work the fields and greenhouses. They grow all sorts of fruit and vegetables which can normally be bought for next to nothing. Watching the women and daughters making bread on the outside stove is wonderful and even though you may not speak the language you will soon realize you are in the company to genuinely want to extend a welcome to you. There are two local mosques where you can visit or pray. All the locals are Moslems and you should respect their place of worship, otherwise they are very western and welcoming. There are lots of things to do a little further a field. There is a local bus service which will take you to the centre of Alanya in one direction and Gazipasa in the other. Both are well worth a visit. The drive to Gazipasa is wonderful. There is the old historical sit of Iotepe on the way. The wealth of archaeology, the stunning forested coast line and impossibly blue sea, the gentle friendliness of the people who run the road site restaurants and the delicious cuisine mean that even before you end the 10km journey you have had a day out. You can also go inland but you will need a car but a visit up into the local mountains is well worth a day out. What you must understand is that most of the locals have very little money to spend and this is useful because it means that almost all the local amenities are unspoilt and such things as beaches are free. In addition whereas in Alanya there are lots of trips on Boats etc and good quality cruises etc in the more rural part local will happily take you along fishing for free in much the same way as you would never thing of charging a stranger on a train to sit and talk to you. Eating out Guests can eat locally within walking or go to the centre of Alanya to eat or visit many of the restaurants along the coast road. |
