The interesting flora, a variety of underwater marine life and especially the enticing underwater caverns and caves have made Alanya a popular dive resort. Most of the dive sites are situated around the coastline of the Alanya Castle, the steep cliffs of which turn to dramatic drop-offs under the surface of the sea. The close proximity of these dive sites makes them easily accessible even by inflatables, and diving three or four times a day is possible with the option of returning to base after each dive. The sites are also very suitable for night dives.

The last dive point on the promontory where the castle was build, and next to the Cleopatra Beach where legend says that she and Anthony used to sunbathe, is also a favourite dive site - the Rambo Cavern. The entrance to it is by a wide tunnel about 14m down a vertical wall through which 4-5 divers can swim alongside. A large cave is soon reached roughly 35m wide and where the air pocket is 25m high -divers can surface to breath the clean air as they view the marvelous formation of overhangs and stalactites.

Dolphin Dive is conveniently located at the edge of the promontory and offers up to four dive trips a day: between the hours of 9.30-12.00 and 14.30-17.00. Upon request, night dives are also organized and the boat leaves the harbour one hour after sunset.

Alanya is a relatively unknown dive destination to divers from the UK, and Scuba Tours Turkey are delighted to introduce the Dolphin Dive Centre owned by Erkan Salih Acarlar to divers in Britain.

Erkan is an experienced diver/instructor, knowledgeable on all features of the area. Dolphin are well equipped to cater for all type of dive activities. In addition to providing CMAS, PADI and SSI training, more specialized skills are also taught, such as search and recovery, life-saving and cave diving.

For the cavern/cave dives groups are kept small, the maximum being 6 divers and led by a dive guide and a dive leader. All the boats are equipped with Oxygen, First Aid supplies and Marine VHF. Equipment available includes BCD's 12 and 15 litre steel tanks, full one piece 5mm wet suits, shorties and regulators.

We strongly advise that guests who are coming on holiday print off information about what they would like to see as well as information about the places they would like to visit. We suggest that guests bring an up to date guide book which are always available at the departure airport. Information is available at the villas, but the information on the website is much more detailed and up to date. A detailed map is essential and any good guide book on Turkey will have one. It is much easier to get a guide book in the UK than in Turkey.

These go for Day and Night Trips. For sightseeing,  fishing, swimming in otherwise inaccessible coves. There if often a lunch or other meal included and they are all registered with the Government.

Many of the boats visit the coves just along from the villas, simply because where were are has the best coves and views along the coast.
